.: because the ambition is to enlarge the audience and the distribution of Euro-Mediterranean productions in Europe and in the southern Mediterranean countries;
.: because it’s a fact that European television production is enjoying rapid growth, to meet the demand for programming from the proliferation of new channels and European viewers’ increasing preference for European programmes and Mediterranean topics;
.: because we support the co-operation between the European and the Mediterranean countries and we believe that MEDIMED is a real contribution to the co-operation of the Barcelona’95 Treaty;
.: because the television industry has expressed a need for a more focused events which prove to offer better conditions to establish new contacts, screen programmes, make deals, share a common experience with independent producers and bring them together in a pleasant environment.
.: because this event grants diversity and quality and enhances the author’s position, making a frame whose purpose is to loose the weakness of independent producers, to lead televisions and producers to a freer and more creative discourse, within the Euro-Mediterranean framework;
.: and because experience has proved to us that independent producers from both shores of the Mediterranean see the event as a valid tool to approach the buyers, co-production executives and international distributors in a more profitable way in regards to their projects, thanks to the self contained venue and friendly environment provided.
